North of Playa Pelada, Playa Nosara and Boca Nosara mark the river mouth where Río Nosara and Río Montaña wind through tall red and black mangroves beside the 85-acre Nosara Biological Reserve (immediately below Hotel Boutique Lagarta Lodge).
